Development Staff

Kyle Hanna moved into the role of Director of Development on October 16, 2023. Prior to this, Hanna served as a Director of Development in the Office of Gift Planning at the Iowa State University Foundation.

Hanna works collaboratively between the ISU Foundation and ISU Athletics in serving alumni and friends that have an interest in supporting Iowa State Athletics. He assists in aligning the philanthropic interests of supporters with the needs and priorities of the athletics department. This includes aligning support towards capital projects, scholarship and program endowments, general funds, the Cyclone Club, etc. Hanna also assists supporters in making an impact with their giving through a variety of gifting vehicles such as estate gifts, retirement assets, charitable funds, stocks, gifts of grain, cash, etc.

Prior to his time at Iowa State, Hanna spent 6 years working as a Financial/Insurance Advisor. Hanna also served as an assistant and head baseball coach at Des Moines Area Community College in Boone from 2011-2016.

Hanna is a Sports Administration graduate of Simpson College and earned his master’s degree in Athletics Administration and Coaching from Concordia University Irvine.

Hanna and his wife, Dana, have three sons – Sam, Gehrig, and Jay.  Hanna is a native of Ankeny, Iowa and currently resides with his family in Boone, Iowa.
