Development Staff

Garrett Mitchell joined the ISU Development staff as the Annual Giving Specialist in June 2024. Prior to this, Mitchell served as the Golden Gopher Fund Intern at the University of Minnesota.

Mitchell graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Communications with a minor in Coaching from the University of Jamestown in 2023. During his undergrad, he interned with the athletic department where he assisted in directing gameday operations and all aspects of executing the first ever women’s wrestling NAIA National tournament and the NAIA GPAC men’s basketball tournament. He was also a member of the University’s football team from 2018-2020. Mitchell also spent his summers working, holding multiple positions at Shakopee High school as a building supervisor, strength and conditioning coach, and an Athletic and Activities Department Intern. He also was a park counselor with AmeriCorps Summer Parks Program in Jamestown.

Mitchell is a native of Shakopee, Minnesota and is a graduate from Shakopee High School.
